A Personal Story about This Card:

I was working on this book when my husband put on a 2002 movie with Gwyneth Paltrow called Possession, which is based on the novel by A. S. Byatt. I was amused to discover that the whole movie revolved around a hidden love story in history between two long-buried poets. The movie takes us through the investigation process amidst journals, diaries, libraries, and a genealogy search, with two intellectual scholars acting as sleuths. This movie is the best description for the Book card: an academic setting, the dedicated scholars, the investigator’s researchers, the case, the diaries, the journals, the hidden historical romance and the gradual unearthing of a long-buried secret. All of these totally embody the Book card and all its different facets. What I loved the most was the fact that the universe decided I would watch this movie on the day I wrote this section on the Book card!

The Book card comes up whenever I work with my kids on their homework or school projects. Another happy memory I have with the Book was a daily random pull of Book + Bouquet. At the time, I assumed it was about the Alamo project I was working on with my son (dealing with lots of research and making a model of the Alamo) and thought, “Yay! It is going to turn out good.”
